Description

KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, retaining the anti-inflammatory activity of the parent molecule without melanogenic effects.
Mechanism: Enters cells via PEPT1 transporter and inhibits NF-κB nuclear translocation, suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokine transcription including TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8.
Research findings: DSS-colitis and TNBS-colitis rodent models reported significant reductions in mucosal inflammation and improved barrier integrity. Topical KPV has shown anti-inflammatory activity in atopic dermatitis preclinical work, with emerging interest in oral and mucosal delivery research.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
