Description
PNC-27 is a 32-amino-acid peptide combining the HDM-2 binding domain of p53 with a membrane-resident peptide leader sequence.
Mechanism: HDM-2 over-expressed on cancer cell membranes (not present on normal cells) anchors PNC-27 at the plasma membrane, where it forms transmembrane pores and triggers cancer-cell necrosis through membranolysis – a mechanism distinct from apoptosis.
Research findings: Pre-clinical studies in pancreatic, leukaemia, melanoma and glioblastoma models reported selective tumour-cell killing without harm to neighbouring normal cells. Reference compound in selective tumour-membrane and HDM-2-targeted oncology research.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
