Description
Cerebrolysin is a peptide preparation derived from purified porcine brain proteins, containing low-molecular-weight neuropeptides and amino acids.
Mechanism: Mimics neurotrophic factor activity (NGF, BDNF, GDNF, CNTF) on CNS tissue. Protects against excitotoxicity, free-radical damage and apoptosis. Promotes neuronal sprouting and synaptic plasticity.
Research findings: Used clinically in Europe and Asia for ischaemic stroke, traumatic brain injury and dementia. Cochrane reviews of stroke recovery trials reported improvements in neurological function scores. Cerebrolysin is a long-standing reference in neurotrophic research.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
