Description
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) modelled on a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4-10), but devoid of hormonal activity.
Mechanism: Rapidly elevates BDNF and NGF expression in hippocampus and cortex. Modulates dopaminergic, serotonergic and cholinergic neurotransmission. Crosses the blood-brain barrier intranasally with cortical activity detectable within minutes.
Research findings: Approved in Russia for acute ischaemic stroke recovery. Clinical research reported improvements in attention, working memory and cognitive recovery following stroke and TBI. Semax is a widely studied nootropic-class reference peptide.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
