Description
P21 (without Adamantane) is a 21-amino-acid peptide derived from the C-terminus of Cdk5 activator p35.
Mechanism: Stimulates BDNF expression and promotes neurogenesis in adult hippocampus. Reduces tau hyperphosphorylation and amyloid-beta accumulation in transgenic Alzheimer’s models. Acts via the TrkB-BDNF signalling axis.
Research findings: Murine Alzheimer’s models reported reduced amyloid plaque burden, improved spatial memory and restored hippocampal neurogenesis. P21 is studied as a brain-permeable cognitive-protection research peptide.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
