Description
Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide GHS-R1a agonist developed as a more potent successor to GHRP-6.
Mechanism: Activates the ghrelin receptor on pituitary somatotrophs to drive GH release. Additionally binds CD36 in cardiac tissue, an alternative receptor implicated in cardioprotective effects observed in ischaemia-reperfusion models.
Research findings: Preclinical work reported reduced infarct size and improved post-MI cardiac function. Used as a reference compound in GH-secretagogue and cardiac-protective peptide research.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
