Description
IGF-1 DES (1-3) is an IGF-1 analogue with the first three N-terminal residues removed, generating a tri-peptide-deleted active fragment.
Mechanism: The N-terminal truncation reduces binding to IGFBPs while retaining IGF-1 receptor affinity. The molecule is more locally active and shorter-acting than IGF-1 LR3, suiting tissue-specific research.
Research findings: Used as a comparator in IGF-1 receptor signalling studies, local muscle hypertrophy models and binding-protein research. Useful where rapid clearance is required between dosing windows.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
