Description
Adipotide (FTPP, CKGGRAKDC-GG-D(KLAKLAK)2) is a chimeric peptidomimetic targeting prohibitin-1 on white adipose tissue vasculature.
Mechanism: The homing domain binds prohibitin on adipose endothelial cells; the pro-apoptotic D(KLAKLAK)2 cargo disrupts mitochondrial membranes selectively in those endothelia, withdrawing the blood supply that sustains white adipose tissue.
Research findings: Non-human primate studies at MD Anderson reported sustained weight loss and improved insulin resistance in obese rhesus macaques over 28 days. Adipotide is studied as a vasculature-targeted anti-obesity research reference.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
