Description
Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide derived from epithalamin, a polypeptide complex isolated from bovine pineal gland.
Mechanism: Up-regulates telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) expression, sustaining telomere length in cultured human fibroblasts. Restores melatonin secretion rhythm in aged subjects via pineal interaction.
Research findings: Khavinson group studies in elderly populations reported normalisation of circadian melatonin profiles, reduced age-related markers, and extended life span in murine models. Telomere-elongation findings in cell culture remain a major focus in cellular ageing research.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption. This material is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research applications conducted by qualified personnel.
