Description
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is an essential redox cofactor present in every living cell.
Mechanism: Serves as a substrate for sirtuins (SIRT1-7), PARPs and CD38, and as the central electron acceptor in glycolysis, beta-oxidation and the TCA cycle. NAD+ levels decline with age, limiting sirtuin-mediated deacetylation and impairing mitochondrial biogenesis.
Research findings: Direct parenteral NAD+ restoration is used in mitochondrial dysfunction research, neurodegeneration models, and cellular senescence studies. Trials in Parkinson’s, depression and addiction recovery have explored direct NAD+ infusion protocols.
Handling: Lyophilized peptide. Store sealed at -20°C for long-term stability or 2-8°C short-term. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or 0.6% acetic acid as appropriate to the molecule.
